1. He made up a whole backstory for his Twilight character, Demetri. Here goes: “Demetri lived near Mt. Vesuvius before it erupted–when it did, it killed his family, but he was so fast, he was able to outrun the lava. He ended up in the foothills, where he was enslaved. But he kept running away from his masters, and ended up in Rome, where he became a gladiator. He had no fighting skills, instead, he just ran away from his opponents. Eventually he was blind-sided by an arrow and he went down. Then Volturi leader Aro came in, recognized his skills, and turned him into a vampire–he’s been serving the vampire guard ever since.” Now, does that have the makings of the next Stephenie Meyer novel or what?

2. He has “everything envy”. ”It’s why I became an actor,” he told us. “I can be anything!” Two things he’s green-eyed over right now: New York (he lives in L.A., but plans to move to the city at the end of the year) and whoever’s auditioning for the next installment of Pirates of the Caribbean.

3. His drink of choice is rum. For the moment, Captain Morgans Silver Spiced run. “On the rocks?” we asked. Bewley’s reply: “If there are rocks around.”

4. He actually tries to make his hair look like that. It’s an artistic creation, complete with tusks (the little pieces in front of his ears) and horns (they’re somewhere near his neck, apparently). So how exactly does he sculpt his locks to architectural perfection? “I blow dry it a bit, then use this crap pot of wax I got for $1.95–sport wax.”

5. His favorite movie is Fight Club. “It has everything a movie needs to be great,” he explained. His runners-up: Shawshank Redemption and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

I’m taking a stand and saying this is my favourite photo shoot of Charlie ever.

And not just because the Block is a Canadian magazine.

I’m hanging out for Charlie’s Seventeen shoot with Alex and co. It’s been positively forever since we’ve seen a studio shoot.

While we’re on Meraz – is anyone else heading to Brisbane Nova next weekend? I’ll be slaving away at one of the stalls – come and say hello!

That headline may seem innocuous enough, but hey, way to throw a stone amongst the pigeons! All it takes is one comment and they’re off!

Whilst in New York, Charlie stopped by Paper offices and reminded us of one important thing; Americans do not get the British sense of humour. Snatching babies.

Yeesh.

Here are the highlights:

- His role in Eclipse is much bigger than his role in New Moon

- He’s *allegedly* got a “Parkour” project coming up in China

- He likes girls whose “heads are sort of big in proportion to their bodies, skinny and flat chested. Next.

- He and Rob Pattinson went shopping together and their was a two for one special on nondescript white shirts

(okay, so that wasn’t included, but how many times have we seen these shirts recently?)

So what is Parkour?

Parkour is the physical discipline of training to overcome any obstacle within one’s path by adapting one’s movement to their environment. Parkour movement’s typically include jumping, vaulting, climbing and balancing.

If this is indeed what the project is all about – and if he’s indeed signed on, it looks like it’s right up Charlie’s alley.

Back when @Chrillesson informed us that Charlie would indeed be attending a SciFi convention in Malmo, we couldn’t for the life of us figure out why – seeing as Twilight: New Moon falls into neither the horror (regardless of what the Academy thinks) nor the Sci-Fi categories. Upon finding this interview, however, the answer is bleedingly obvious.

Please excuse the phrasing as it has been translated straight to English by Google.

Vampire-warning in Malmo

Most of you will know Matilda as @chrillesson on Twitter.  Regardless of what she tells you, her English is fantastic, she looks stunning in her pictures and Star Trek troopers are really very scary …

Me and my friend Emma left our little island in the East at about 5 am. The sun was rising and it looked like it was going to be quite a lovely day…. hrrm, yea right. We reached our destination in Malmö at 9.30, half an hour before the con opened, and OH MY GOD, I NEED TO THANK MY PARENTS FOR SETTLING DOWN ON THE EAST COAST! I think I froze to death three times while walking to the parking meter and back.

(Note to self: Going South doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re going somewhere warmer)

As I parked ridiculously far away from the con (don’t blame me, blame the person who put up those stupid signs), we got to take a little walk in the ”lovely” cool and refreshing rain. We didn’t have to wait in line for very long though, they opened the doors after about 20 minutes. Considering the weather conditions, I’m sure that seemed long enough for some people – but I’ve lined up for Idol for 7 hours in snow and stood in biting wind and hail for 5 hours to see my football/soccer team win the league, so I think I’m used to it.

(All of these things happened on the West coast, so if any of you are planning on moving to Sweden, go East!)

First thing I noticed when walking into the con: Wow, there are toys EVERYWHERE!

Second thing I noticed when walking into the con: Charlie Bewley is reading a book.

We didn’t go up to Charlie immediately, since we wanted to check everything out (and also because I had to mentally prepare myself). I ended up buying a New Moon dvd for Charlie to sign, even though I already have the UK version at home. Apparently, everyone who bought a dvd also got a MASSIVE poster of Edward, Jacob & Bella. I seriously considered leaving it in a corner for some lucky Twifan to find, since I had absolutely nowhere to put it.

Anyway, this is where the interesting part of this text starts.

Charlie was looking a little lonely so we decided that now was the time to walk up to him. He was really nice and the first thing he did was to check out the special features on the dvd. It was all in Swedish though so I don’t think he understood anything except for “Wolf Pack”.

Sorry Charlie, no Volturi on the Swedish 2 disc edition! When he was done looking at the dvd, I mentioned that I was covering the event for Team Bewley International. He lit up as soon as I’d said it!

Me: I’m sort of covering this event for Team Bewley International…
Charlie: No way! Really?
Me: Yeah!
Charlie: Aaah, how you doin? It’s really nice to meet you!

Then he shook my hand and asked about my name! He also mentioned the tweet that TBI sent to him about me driving across the country to see him, so I told him that I’d been driving all the way from the East coast. He asked ”How come you’re reporting for them?”

Then we talked about awesome aussies for a bit ;)

When it was Emma’s turn to get her dvd signed, I took one look at her face and realized that I’d forgotten to fill her in on the TBI details. She was a bit shocked! Anyway, I took a couple of pics of Charlie, and of course he wanted to see how they turned out. They were, in his own words “alright”. As we were about to walk away, he said “Just let me know if you need anything, ok?”, and I was quite overwhelmed by how nice and devoted he is to his fans.

We took another tour around the con and looked at toys, games & other stuff that we really weren’t interested in at all. Although, I did buy ”The Hangover” on dvd… how very SciFi of me!  ;)

Ok, after that, we went to buy tickets for the photoshoot which wasn’t going to take place until 2 pm. So we had another hour and a half of doing absolutely nothing before we went to line up for the shoot. Robert Englund (“Terror on Elm Street”) was posing with fans before Charlie and he was by far the most popular guest, which meant that the time schedule got a little messed up. While we were waiting for the photoshoot, a friend of mine called from back home and was over the top excited about this “OMG SUPER HOT GUY” she had just seen. Actually, if I’m comparing her to the crazy fangirls I’ve met in my life, she was worse. I thought she was hilarious so I just had to reproduce the conversation for Emma as soon as I’d finished the call. I gotta say, my impersonation was pretty spot on, and when I got to the “OMG HE WAS SUPER HOT” part… Charlie walked by. I hadn’t really noticed him until he was right in front of me, and the look he gave me was pretty much a mix of surprise and amusement. I’m not exactly the screaming fangirl type, but that must’ve been exactly how I looked at that moment! My instant reaction was “Oh God, kill me now”, haha.

The photoshoot went pretty fast. I’m guessing they tried to make it go even faster as they were a bit behind the schedule, so there wasn’t a lot of time to talk. Charlie did, however, ask if I’d had a chance to talk to “the girls” (referring to TBI, of course) yet. I told him that I hadn’t because I’d have to drive home first, to which he replied “Oh, right”. I’m guessing it’s not so easy to remember everything when you’re a jet lagged Charlie Bewley

I told him that it was a four hour drive and he replied with “Four hours?!”, but then the photographer cut us off. There was a 2 hour wait for the photos, and when I finally got mine, my first thought was “aw crap, my fringe is covering half of my face”.. But hey, who looks good next to Mr Bewley, right? (if you have another opinion, please keep it to yourselves, I need to believe this in order to keep my mental health stabile haha)

Since the photos were a bit late, we had to hurry over to Charlie to get them signed, as our car park ticket was running out. He looked quite carefully at the photos and then decided that they looked alright. I normally don’t ask for hugs at signings, I think that might be a part of my Swedish “shyness” (can’t really find the correct word to descrbe it), but you know what?

This is Charlie frickin’ Bewley we’re talking about. I needed a hug for the road!!!

Most of you know by now that Charlie spent the weekend in Malmoe, Sweden for a sci-fi convention. This photo was sent in by one of our good friends Chrilly who attended the event.
